Read this first: 1 Samuel 23:28-29
Two placenames close this story of God's rescue. The first remembers how David and Saul were pulled apart at this rock (and, now, would never fight). The second names a watery oasis where David had relief after his wilderness trial. The Lord always gives his people rest in the end. As David later wrote of this time: "he has delivered me from all my troubles" (Psa 54:7).
