Read this first: 1 Samuel 22:18-19
Saul is now like other kings, as his foreign mercenary kills Israel's priests for him. However, Doeg goes further and annihilates their whole town. Evil's thirst is not easily quenched. If we indulge a sinful desire, we soon find it wants more and worse, in a spiral that continues down until we are ruined (Jam 1:13-15). Seek forgiveness for such addiction and the grace to resist.
