Read this first: 1 Samuel 20:29-30
As predicted (v7), Saul's temper blazes when he finds David and Jonathan have spoken, and he blurts out a crude slander about his wife (Jonathan's mother) to shame his 'disloyal' son. Defaming others is wicked (Exo 20:16). Coarse language is to be restrained (Eph 5:4). Cursing should not be (Jam 3:9-10). How do you speak when in a foul mood? Do you need to repent?
