Here am I, and the children

Read this first: Hebrews 2:13
Long before Jesus, in the time of an unbelieving king and looming judgement, the prophet Isaiah trusted God and knew his children were signs of future salvation (Isa 8-9). These words also apply to Jesus, says the writer. Jesus' children, however, are not those of the flesh but of the Spirit (Joh 1:12-13): we are his family, and we are the signs of the salvation he's bringing.
