Read this first: James 5:2
Continuing his condemnation of the self-righteous rich in his society, James gives heaven's view of their wealth: it's rotten! So though their clothes may be of the highest quality, to the Lord they are moth-eaten rags. We can be easily attracted to those with outward style. But we should seek out true beauty, and that is found in a person's heart (1Sa 16:7; 1Pe 3:3,4).
