You ask with wrong motives

Read this first: James 4:3
James has accused his friends of warring over, rather than praying about, their troubles (v1, 2). But some of them claim otherwise: they've been praying! Yet, what have their prayers been? For God to satisfy their wishes, like a heavenly vending machine! This is wrong. Our prayers must centre on God's will being done (Mat 6:10), not just the meeting of our desires.
