You have faith; I have deeds

Read this first: James 2:18
James now imagines hearing Jewish criticism of his emphasis on 'faith', which insists that God blesses those who do His works! Indeed, replies James, but you can't separate that from faith. Worthy deeds are those which arise from loving trust in the Lord. Is that true of this critic? Do not assess your Christian life simply by what you do: ask what motive sits behind your actions.
