His strength was gone
Think of the King - 424
Read this first: 1 Samuel 28:20
Saul throws himself down on hearing Samuel's words, full of fear and deeply weakened due to hunger. But he deserves that for he once distressed his army with a no-eating command given in pride (14:24). God says that what we do to others in unrepented sin will come back to trouble us. So turn from sin and do good by the Spirit's help, for that brings life (Gal 6:7-10).
