Read this first: 1 Samuel 28:9-10
The woman is suspicious of the three men: how she can know it's not a trap? To reassure her, Saul swears an oath which includes a terrible sin: misusing the Lord's name (Exo 20:7). When you use God's name, is it always with due care and honour? Or do you sometimes use it to express surprise? Or just rattle it out mindlessly in a hymn or prayer? Let's speak with care.
