Read this first: 1 Samuel 26:19-20
If David's troubles are discipline for sin, he will seek forgiveness. But if they're just due to jealous men, then he curses them for taking him from the Lord's blessing and presence. Either way, Saul can cancel the hunt. When trouble falls it's right to ask if it's God's discipline. But if you've not sinned, then let your conscience be at peace and request the Lord's rescue.
