Read this first: 1 Samuel 25:39
David blesses God not only for giving wicked Nabal what he deserved but also for saving David from the rage within him which would have led to innocent men dying. It is right and good to desire justice for the wrongs others do to us or those we love. But our hearts would often punish unjustly out of temper and pride. Step back and let the Lord judge (Rom 12:19).
