Read this first: 1 Samuel 24:7
Boldly, David puts himself between his motley crew (22:2) and the king. They would kill Saul but David bravely keeps them at bay. As a result, his enemy leaves the cave unharmed and unaware, even, of the danger he was in. Think on how the Lord cares for us - who in sin have treated him so badly - even when we're unaware (Psa 121). Give thanks and praise to Him!
