Show me unfailing kindness
Think of the King - 293
Read this first: 1 Samuel 20:14-15
Jonathan has vowed to make David king. But when he is, how will David's court view him? Most likely as a threat. So he asks David to be as kind as the Lord and not rank Jonathan and his family among his enemies in future days. The Christian life is to be grace towards others even as we've received grace (Mat 18:23-35). Don't let personal ambition steer you from that.
