His son Jonathan
Think of the King - 172
Read this first: 1 Samuel 13:16-18
At last, the writer tells us who the hero Jonathan (v3) is: Saul's son! How sad. He's a good prince but his future has been wrecked by his father's disobedience. Meanwhile, the situation deteriorates further as the enemy advances in multiple directions. It's rotten when children bear the consequences of their parents' sins. But the Lord can bring change (Jer 31:29-30).
