Let the Hebrews hear
Think of the King - 164
Read this first: 1 Samuel 13:3
Jonathan does what Saul failed to do and attacks the enemy. Saul is then forced to gather Israel. But the word used for them is the one the Philistines use: "Hebrews" (4:9). This shows that, unlike Jonathan, the nation and their king have a deafeatist mindset. Pessimism may truly reflect much of our experience, but those who trust the Lord should also have hope.
