Read this first: 1 Samuel 1:4-5
One wife has many children, the other none, and the LORD has done this. Yet, as the kindness of her husband shows, Hannah is not being judged for personal sin. It's Israel's disobedience (Ju 21:25) which is to blame (De 28:15,18). When the Lord sends troubles we should check ourselves for sin (1Co 11:30-32). But, also, take care not to jump to mistaken conclusions.
