Read this first: Hebrews 2:11
Jesus's work makes his people holy: ready to live in God's home. Not as servants, however, but as children (v10). This delights Jesus, for he isn't proud and he doesn't resent God's grace to us. Rather, he gladly calls us brothers. As John wrote: "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!" (1Jo 3:1)
