Read this first: Hebrews 2:2-3
The first hearers of Hebrews were impressed by the angelic origins Judaism claimed for the Old Testament. But the writer reminds them that those laws also brought punishment - as seen in Israel’s history - and that’s why the salvation of Christ was so desperately needed! We too must have a deep awareness of our need of salvation. If we lose that, we lose everything.
