The final part of James focuses on the prayer-life of the local church, especially prayer for a wayward Christian who knows a time of illness is God’s discipline. If he/she asks the elders to pray (v13), their faith will restore the believer’s health, with the promise that if particular sins have been the problem, these are now forgiven. The Lord loves to restore wandering sheep.
