Read this first: James 2:23
Abraham put his faith in the Lord, and God said he would not be condemned when judgement fell on the doomed land of Canaan (Gen 15:1-6): no matter what happened in the meantime, God would view Abraham as without guilt in his sight. This opened the door to friendship with God. Huge blessings of grace flow from having an active faith in the Lord. Rejoice in them!
