Read this first: James 1:1
James is King Jesus's half-brother and could refer to his royal status as he writes to Jewish Christians living away from Israel due to persecution. But he doesn't. Rather, he writes as the willing slave of a good master in heaven. Do you see your life that way? We often think about our wants and needs. But the Christian must, in love (Mat 22:34-38), put God before all else.
