Read this first: 1 Samuel 25:18-19
Like Jacob long before (Gen 32:13-15), Abigail sends a huge gift to placate David. She then bravely takes her life in her hands and follows the food to meet him. However, she tells none of this to her rotten husband. Do you know anyone in a marriage who, at cost to themselves, often has to calm the upsets their spouse stirs up? This can be so wearing. Pray for change.
