Read this first: 1 Samuel 25:1-2
David took a risk for peace and got it. Saul is willing to back off if David will ensure his family's safety, which David willingly does. However, peace today does not mean peace tomorrow, especially with a troubled soul like Saul. So David remains in his secure camp. Sometimes the Lord lets us "lie down in green pastures" (Psa 23:2). Give thanks, even if it doesn't last long.
