Read this first: 1 Samuel 23:21-23
Saul takes the Lord's name in vain to flatter the clan who say they'll deliver David to him. But he doesn't actually trust Judahites, and so emphasises his wariness of being double-crossed, before requiring more information. If flattery, deceit and betrayal become our norm, then others will play us the same way. The believer should speak truth and be faithful, like Jesus.
