Read this first: 1 Samuel 20:5-7
David shows how to test his claim that Saul's plan to harm him is kept secret from his son (v3). In an indirect way, Jonathan must let his father know he's spoken with David. If David is right, Saul will become angry that his plots have been exposed, and Jonathan will know the truth. What does losing your temper say about you? Does unrepented sin sit behind your anger?
