Read this first: 1 Samuel 10:24-25
Saul has appeared and Samuel identifies him as chosen by the Lord and impressive. But without asking "chosen for what?", the people rush to proclaim that Saul fits their definition of a king! So Samuel writes down what he's said about kings and sends the excitable fools home. We can put too much trust in human leaders. But we can put all our trust in Jesus.
