The tongue also is a fire

Read this first: James 3:5-6
If we listen to the news we hear of much evil in the world. But if we listen to ourselves we discover evil too. Our tongues expose our hearts (Mat 12:34) and, sadly, our natural hearts are poisoned by sin (Jer 17:9), so that our tongues speak what is destructive. Praise the Lord, however, that he cleanses our hearts (Eze 26:36), which enables our speech to become good.
